ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a system of controlling the operation of a plant by using a digital computer, the running operation procedures are classified according to the states of the plant process which comprise essential break points of the running, and the operations, supervisions, displays and other pro- cessings related to the states, and tables are prepared containing classified items which are described according to a predetermined format. The contents of the tables are converted into machine words and stored in the memory device of the computer. The computer is provided with means responsive to a process signal from the plant for selecting a table corresponding to the process signal to form an oper- ating signal which is used to control the plant. mere is also provided a visible display device for displaying the content of the selected table. This makes ready modification or addition to the tables by the computer itself, thereby eliminating trouble- some operations required for preparing flow charts from block diagrams and subsequent coding operations.
