ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of providing a fire-sealed lead-through in a cavity with the aid of a tool specially intended for the purpose, involves compressing a prefabricated body of fire-re- sistant foamed material sealingly in the cavity. The tool is foamed with an upper part comprising a tube with greater dimen- sions than the cavity, a lower part comprising a tube fitting into the cavity, and an intermediate part uniting the two tube parts. The tool is upwardly provided with a pressure tight lid with a connection for introducing compressed air. When the latter is supplied, the prefabricated body is urged out of the tool to expand and engage the wall of the cavity simultaneously as the tool is urged out from the cavity.
