A method and a valve apparatus for counteracting harmful pressure pulses caused by rapid retardation of a liquid in a hydraulic system comprising a pump for the supply of liquid to a conduit stretch containing a non-liquid-filled volume. The valve apparatus comprises a main valve (11) having an inlet (12) connected to a reservoir for pressurised gas, a first valve chamber (I) connected in use to said volume, and a regulating unit (20, 21-28, 33, 38-40, 45, 53-57) for controlling the supply of pressurised gas to the first chamber (I). The regulating unit comprises a first device (20, 21-28, 33, 38-40) arranged to open for the supply of pressurised gas via the main valve (11) to the first chamber (I) when the pressure therein sinks below an activating value (P1), and thereafter to maintain the pressure in the chamber (I) at a desired value (P2), a second device (38-40, 45) causing an increased supply of pressurised gas to the first chamber (I) when the pressure therein rises after having fallen to the activating pressure (P1), and a third device (53-57) causing closing of the main valve (11) and therewith shutting-off of the gas flow to the first chamber (I) when the pressure therein has risen to a closing value (P3).
Procédé et ensemble soupape destinés à contrer l'action de pulsations de pression nuisibles provoquées par le brusque ralentissement d'un liquide dans un système hydraulique qui comporte une pompe destinée à l'introduction d'un liquide dans une longueur de conduite contenant un volume non rempli de liquide. L'ensemble soupape comporte une soupape principale (11) dotée d'un orifice d'entrée (12) connecté à un réservoir de gaz sous pression, une première chambre (I) de soupape connectée lors de l'utilisation à ce volume, et une unité de régulation (20, 21-28, 33, 38-40, 45, 53-57) destinée à réguler l'alimentation en gaz sous pression de la première chambre (I). L'unité de régulation comporte un premier dispositif (20, 21-28, 33, 38-40) conçu pour s'ouvrir en vue de l'alimentation de la première chambre (I) en gaz sous pression via la soupape principale (11) lorsque la pression à l'intérieur de cette dernière baisse au-dessous d'une valeur d'activation (P1), puis pour maintenir la pression dans la chambre (I) à une valeur désirée (P2), un deuxième dispositif (38-40, 45) provoquant une alimentation accrue de la première chambre (I) en gaz sous pression lorsque la pression dans ladite chambre augmente après être tombée à la pression d'activation (P1) et un troisième dispositif (53-57) provoquant la fermeture de la soupape principale (11) et, partant, l'arrêt du flux de gaz vers la première chambre (I) lorsque la pression à l'intérieur de cette dernière est montée à une valeur de fermeture (P3).
