A method, apparatus and assembly for connecting structures, such as frame structures, such as frame structures of fenestration units. In at least some embodiments, an assembly that includes a first frame with a first planar surface, and a second frame with a second planar surface. The assembly includes a mechanism to force the first planar surface toward the second planar surface and hold the first and second surfaces proximate each other in a predetermined final installation position. The mechanism to force and hold includes a movable wedge adjustment surface with an adjustment unit placed against the wedge surface such that the adjustment unit is configured to move the adjustment surface against the wedge surface forcing the first planar surface proximate to the second planar surface in the final installation position.
