An instrument for sequencing oligonucleotides is loaded with the products of four sequencing reaction mixtures. These products are a combination of A, C, G and T reaction products for several sequencing reactions. The products of the different sequencing reactions are labeled with fluorescent tags which are distinguishable one from the other on the basis of their excitation or emission spectra. After separation of the oligonucleotides by electrophoresis, the order of the detected peaks is used to call the base sequence.

L'invention concerne un instrument destiné à la mise en séquence d'oligonucléotides. Cet instrument est chargé des produits de quatre mélanges de réaction de mise en séquences. Ces produits sont une combinaison de produits de réaction A, C, G et T pour diverses réactions de mise en séquences. Les produits des différentes réactions de mise en séquences sont marqués avec des marqueurs fluorescents qui peuvent être distingués les uns des autres en fonction de leur excitation, ou de leurs spectres d'émission. Après la séparation des oligonucléotides par électrophorèse, l'ordre des pics détectés permet d'appeler la séquence de base.
