A system (10), method (60) and apparatus (14) are provided for updating a first advertisement in a video program stream with a second advertisement, based on temporal metadata replacement rules and instructions embedded in or otherwise associated with the advertisements. The system (10) includes a video stream encoder (12) for embedding temporal metadata into the advertisements. The method (60) includes a step (62) of reading the temporal metadata and a step (66) of updating the advertisements based on the temporal metadata. The apparatus (14) includes a recording device (22) for recording (64) portions of the video program stream, including the advertisements. The apparatus (14) also includes an advertisement reader (18) for identifying and locating suitable replacement advertisements based on the temporal metadata, and an advertisement insertion module (24) for replacing advertisements in the stored video program based on the temporal metadata.
Cette invention concerne un système (10), un procédé (60) et un dispositif (14) permettant d'actualiser une première annonce publicitaire dans une séquence de programme vidéo par une seconde annonce publicitaire au moyen de règles de remplacement de métadonnées temporelles et d'instructions incorporées dans les annonces publicitaires, voire associées à ces dernières. Le système (10) comprend un codeur vidéo (12) pour l'incorporation de métadonnées temporelles dans les annonces publicitaires. Le procédé (60) consiste (62) à lire les métadonnées temporelles et (66) à actualiser les annonces publicitaires en fonction de ces métadonnées. Quant au dispositif (14), il comprend un dispositif d'enregistrement (22) permettant d'enregistrer (64) des parties de la séquence du programme vidéo, dont les annonces publicitaires. Le dispositif (14) comprend également un lecteur d'annonces publicitaires (18) destiné à identifier et à localiser des annonces publicitaires de remplacement appropriées en fonction des métadonnées temporelles, et un module d'insertion d'annonces (24) permettant de remplacer les annonces publicitaires incluses dans le programme vidéo stocké sur la base métadonnées.
