A telecommunication system (10a) that routes an inbound telephone communication through an enterprise communication network and server. The system (l0a) and its operating method routes an incoming call (210) to a first recipient (602), and if the first recipient does not answer, then routes the call to a second recipient (or more) based on a predetermined user profile and/or user overflow group (604, 605). The server (30) retrieves an overflow group profile, consisting of a plurality user profiles (520), associated with the called device, determines how to route the call, and initiates a call to the user (701) and/or overflow group members (704, 706) according to how the call (210) should be routed. The system (10a) can route the incoming call (210) to a plurality of telephony devices including personal digital assistants and other remote devices.
