A method for separating eucaryotic or procaryotic cells or other particularly biological material which is sensitive against high shearing forces from a suspension is provided using at least one hydrocyclone with an inlet and an outlet. The outlet of the hydrocyclone is essentially opposite to the inlet and the interior space of the hydrocyclone converges towards the outlet. The suspension is delivered to the inlet of the hydrocyclone, and the suspension enriched with the cells is drained off from the outlet. The enriched suspension is then guided from or through the outlet by a flow means in such a way, that a minimum of shearing stresses occurs and the kinetic energy of the enriched suspension at the outlet of the hydrocyclone is reduced that the viability of the cell material is influenced at a minimum.
La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant de séparer d'une suspension des cellules eucaryotes ou procaryotes ou un autre matériau biologique particulièrement sensible aux forces de cisaillement élevées. On utilise à cet effet au moins un hydrocyclone disposant d'un orifice d'entrée et d'un orifice de sortie. L'orifice de sortie de l'hydrocyclone est essentiellement opposé à l'orifice d'entrée, le volume intérieur de l'hydrocyclone convergeant vers l'orifice de sortie. La suspension est amenée à l'orifice de l'hydrocyclone, et la suspension enrichie en cellules est épuisée par l'orifice de sortie. La suspension enrichie est alors guidée depuis ou au travers de l'orifice de sortie par un organe d'écoulement de façon qu'il ne se produise qu'un minimum de contraintes de cisaillement, et que l'énergie cinétique de la suspension enrichie à l'orifice de sortie de l'hydrocyclone soit réduite pour compromettre le moins possible la viabilité du matériau cellulaire.
