The present invention relates to method, arrangement and apparatus for providing a mobile user with information retrievable from a database. The method comprises the steps of establishing a communications connection between a mobile station and a base station or base stations of a mobile communications network. The location of the mobile station is then determined on the basis of the base station or base stations, and this identified location information is processed in the mobile communications network so as to enable a retrieval of area related information relating to the determined location from the database. Said retrieved area related information is then transmitted to the mobile station.

L'invention concerne un procédé, une configuration et un appareil destinés à fournir à un utilisateur de mobile des informations extraites d'une base de données. Le procédé consiste à établir une communication entre une station mobile et au moins une station de base d'un réseau de communication mobile. La localisation de la station mobile est ensuite déterminée sur la base de la ou des station(s) de base et cette information de localisation identifiée est traitée dans le réseau de communication mobile de manière à permettre l'extraction d'informations liées à une zone et concernant la localisation déterminée de la base de données. Lesdites informations liées à une zone et extraites sont ensuite transmises à la station mobile.
