In winding a thin metal strip at high speed, it is intended to increase the yield by preventing malformation due to the stretching of the metal strip. A method of winding metal strips, wherein before the end of the winding, wrapper rolls (6) are pressed against the outer winding surface of a coil (5) to brake the rotation of the coil (5), whereby the rotation of the coil (5) is stopped in a short time at the end of the winding, the pressing force exerted by each wrapper rolls (6) being 10-20 kN/m.

La présente invention concerne un procédé d'enroulement d'une fine bande de métal à haute vitesse visant à augmenter le rendement en prévenant les malformations imputables à l'étirement du ruban de métal. Ce procédé consiste, en l'occurrence à appliquer, avant la fin de l'enroulement, des galets d'enveloppement (6) contre la surface d'enroulement extérieure d'une bobine (5) de façon à freiner la rotation de la bobine (5). Il en résulte que la bobine (5) s'arrête rapidement en fin d'enroulement, la force d'application exercée par chaque galet d'enveloppement (6) étant de 10 à 20 kN/m.
