A method of operating a mooring system (500) exemplified by active mooring devices (100) having attractive at-tachment elements (1) fixable to a ship's hull (51) is described. Each mooring device (100) includes active means for moving the attachment element (1) vertically and in the horizontal plane, and the method involves repositioning the attachment elements (1) in a stepwise manner. Also disclosed is a seal (60) for a vaccum attachment element (1).

Procédé de fonctionnement d'un système d'amarrage (500), en particulier de dispositifs d'amarrage actifs (100) possédant des éléments d'attache (1) à attraction pouvant être fixés sur la coque (51) d'un bateau. Chaque dispositif d'amarrage (100) comporte des moyens actifs permettant le déplacement tant vertical qu'horizontal de l'élément d'attache (1), ledit procédé consistant à repositionner les éléments d'attache (1) de manière graduelle. Un dispositif d'étanchéité (60) pour un élément d'attache (1) par le vide est également décrit.
