The invention concerns a method for activating natural killer cells which consists in contacting NK cells with dendritic cells in vitro, ex vivo or in vivo. The invention also concerns cell compositions, comprising in particular activated NK cells, NK cells-dendritic cells cocultures or dendritic cells, and their use for stimulating cytolitic activity of NK cells or natural immunity in vivo. The invention further concerns a factor stimulating the NK cells present in the membrane of dendritic cells, and media and factor(s) triggering dendritic cells and their use, whether separate or combined, stimulating NK activity, particularly in vivo. The invention can be used to control the activity of NK cells in vitro, ex vivo or in vivo, particularly in pathological conditions.
