The inventive method consists in introducing a fresh sludge flux whose concentration in terms of dry material is less than 40 g/l into the upstream part of a digester (200), maintaining a thin sludge layer in said digester, circulating essentially horizontally effluents above and across the sludge layer and in removing the effluents from the digester simultaneously with soluble products of sludge digestion. The cuvette (201) of the digester is divided into sections (218a-218d) by the transversal walls for the effluent flow, which are provided with a communication opening (216) in the lower part thereof.
Le procédé consiste à : introduire dans la partie amont du digesteur (200) un flux de boues fraîches de concentration en matière sèche inférieure à 40 g/I ; maintenir dans le digesteur une couche de boues de faible épaisseur ; faire circuler les effluents au-dessus et à travers la couche de boues, sensiblement horizontalement, et évacuer les effluents hors du digesteur, en même temps que les produits solubles de la digestion des boues. La cuve (201) du digesteur est divisée en compartiments (218a - 218d) par des parois (213a - 213c) transversales à l'écoulement des effluents munies d'une ouverture de communication (216) en partie inférieure.
