The invention relates to an arc welding method that implements an arc welding torch provided with an electrode, in which a central gas flow is supplied so as to contact the electrode and an annular gas flow is supplied on the periphery of said first gas flow. The central gas flow contains only argon and hydrogen (H2), the hydrogen content being 2 to 8 vol %. The sheath gas flow only contains argon and 1.8 to 3 vol % of carbon dioxide (CO2) or 0.9 to 1.5 vol % of oxygen (O2). The method is used for welding parts made of steel, in particular stainless steel or carbon steel, as well as steel coated with zinc or aluminium or any other material for preventing the corrosion of said steel.

L'invention porte sur un procédé de soudage à l'arc électrique mettant en oeuvre une torche de soudage à l'arc munie d'une électrode, dans lequel un flux de gaz central est délivré au contact de l'électrode et un flux de gaz annulaire est délivré périphériquement audit premier flux de gaz. Le flux de gaz central est constitué uniquement d'argon et d'hydrogène (H2), la teneur en hydrogène étant comprise entre 2 et 8 % en volume. Le flux de gaz de gainage est constitué uniquement d'argon et de 1.8 à 3% en volume de dioxyde de carbone (CO2) ou de 0.9 à 1.5% en volume d'oxygène (O2). Le procédé est utilisé pour souder des pièces en acier, notamment en acier inoxydable ou en acier au carbone, ainsi qu'en acier revêtu de zinc ou d'aluminium ou de tout autre matériau destiné à prévenir la corrosion dudit acier.
