An automated method is provided for assessing fit and alignment of an assembly component in relation to its assembly environment. The method includes: collecting measurement data for the assembly component; defining model data representative of an assembly environment, where the assembly environment is defined by surfaces of objects that are adjacent to the assembly component in an assembled configuration; and comparing the measurement data with the model data for the assembly environment, thereby assessing the assembly component in relation to its assembly environment.
L'invention concerne un procédé automatisé d'évaluation d'ajustement et d'alignement d'un composant d'assemblage en relation à son environnement d'assemblage. Le procédé consiste à collecter des données de mesure du composant d'assemblage, à définir des données de modèle représentatives d'un environnement d'assemblage, l'environnement d'assemblage étant défini par des surfaces d'objets adjacentes au composant d'assemblage dans une configuration assemblée, et à comparer les données de mesure avec les données de modèle concernant l'environnement d'assemblage, évaluant ainsi le composant d'assemblage par rapport à son environnement d'assemblage.
