A method for measuring the electromagnetic response of formations below the bottom of a body of water includes positioning at least one electromagnetic transmitter (25) and at least one electromagnetic receiver (26A) in the body of water each at a selected depth below the water surface. A transient electric current is passed through the at least one transmitter. An electromagnetic signal is detected at the at least one electromagnetic receiver (26A). The depths are selected so that substantially all electromagnetic response to the current passed through the transmitter from the air above the body of water in the detected electromagnetic signal occurs before the beginning of a response originating in the formations below the water bottom.
La présente invention concerne un procédé destiné à la mesure de la réponse électromagnétique de formations situées en dessous du fond d'une masse d'eau. Ce procédé consiste à positionner dans la masse d'eau au moins un émetteur électromagnétique (25) et au moins un récepteur électromagnétique, chacun à une profondeur choisie en dessous de la surface de l'eau. On fait passer un courant électrique transitoire dans l'émetteur considéré. On fait détecter un signal électromagnétique par le récepteur électromagnétique (26A) considéré. Les profondeurs sont choisies de façon que, dans le signal électromagnétique détecté en réponse au courant que l'on a fait passer dans l'émetteur, la partie de réponse provenant de l'air situé au-dessus de la masse d'eau intervienne sensiblement en totalité avant le début d'une partie de la réponse provenant des formations situées en dessous du fond de l'eau.
