L'objet portaif (2) calcule un résultat (R) qui est au moins fonction d'un clé secrète (S) et d'une donnée variable (E). Ce résultat (R) est prélevé par le millau extérieur (1) qui le compare avec un résultat de référence (RO). Ce résultat (RO) est changé de façon aléatoire en étant remplacé par un nouveau réultat (RO) calcuolé par un objet portatif (2) qui a été authentifié sur la base du réultat de référence précédent. L'invention s'applique notamment à l'authentification de cartes de crédit normalisées.
