The invention relates to a method for automatically braking, i.e. without active brake actuation by the driver, a vehicle that is equipped with an electronically controlled brake system. Said brake system comprises an electrically actuated service brake that can be impinged upon with a service brake pressure pB and an electrically actuated parking brake that can be impinged upon with a parking brake pressure pF. Starting from a state in which the vehicle is in a standstill due to the force applied to the brake, the service brake is released and force is applied to the parking brake depending on a triggering criterion. The invention is characterized in that force is applied to the parking brake in response to the triggering criterion without delay, said triggering criterion being one of the following: a) the drive of the vehicle is turned off; b) the service brake pressure pB decreases to a critical brake pressure threshold value; c) the service brake is out of service; d) the on-board voltage of the vehicle decreases to a critical voltage threshold value; e) the parking brake cannot be manually applied due to a failure; f) actuation of an operational control for applying force to the parking brake.
L'invention concerne un procédé de freinage automatique, sans actionnement actif par le conducteur, d'un véhicule équipé d'un dispositif de freinage à régulation électronique comportant un frein de service à commande électrique, pouvant recevoir une pression de frein de service pB, et un frein de stationnement à commande électrique, pouvant recevoir une pression de frein de stationnement pF. A partir d'un état dans lequel le véhicule se trouve à l'arrêt sous l'effet du serrage du frein de service, un relâchement du frein de service et un serrage du frein de stationnement sont effectués en fonction d'un critère de déclenchement. Selon l'invention, un serrage du frein de stationnement est effectué immédiatement en réponse au critère de déclenchement et ce critère de déclenchement est au moins un des critères suivants : a) l'entraînement du véhicule est coupé ; b) la pression de frein de service pB diminue jusqu'à une valeur seuil de pression de frein critique ; c) le frein de service ne fonctionne pas ; d) la tension de bord diminue jusqu'à une valeur seuil de tension critique ; e) le frein de stationnement ne peut pas être serré manuellement en raison d'un défaut ; et, f) l'actionnement d'un élément de commande pour le serrage du frein de stationnement.
