The invention relates to a method for biological treatment of water, wherein macromolecular carbohydrates are added to the water to be treated, optionally together with vitamins and other additives, whereby a great reduction in residues is already achieved after adding small amounts of macromolecular carbohydrates, for example, 0.4 to 600 mg/kg BSB5zu or 0.014 to 14 mg/kg dry activated sludge daily.

L'invention concerne un procédé de traitement biologique de l'eau, selon lequel des glucides macromoléculaires et éventuellement des vitamines ainsi que d'autres produits d'addition sont ajoutés à l'eau à traiter. L'addition de faibles quantités de glucides macromoléculaires comprises par exemple entre 0,4 à 600 mg/kg de DBO¿5,al? ou entre 0,014 et 14 mg/kg de matière sèche de boue activée par jour, permet déjà de réduire fortement les substances résiduelles.
