Abstract The disclosed method for brightening the stains on a stained surface involves the spraying of a combined multi- part system typically made up from three separately prepackaged parts: (a) a nonionic surfactant of the ethoxy- late type (e.g. a surfactant of the formula Image , wherein R is a hydrophobic organic radical and n ranges from 3 to 40), typically diluted with water, (b) a solid, particu- late mass of water soluble persulfate salt, and (c) a concentrated aqueous solution of H2O2. A proper balance between the relative amounts of the three parts provides an adequate pot life before spraying, good brightening and cleaning, and a modest, sustained rate of decomposition of the H2O2.
