ABSTRACT A bundle of wallboard or plasterboard comprising perforated, or slit bundling tape permitting the bundle to be separated readily for use at the construction site. In one embodiment, the bundling tape includes two parallel lines of perforations, or slits with the bundling tape being applied to edges of a wallboard bundle for shipping to the construction site. Prior to the wallboard being placed within the structure, the bundling tape is simply peeled away along the perforations, or slits to permit separation of the wallboard from the bundle. In another embodiment, a single line of perforations, or slits is formed in the center of the bundling tape at the interface of the two panels of wallboard forming a bundle. The bundling tape is configured to permit separation of the panels of wallboard along the perforated, or slit line simply by pulling the panels of wallboard apart. These configurations, and a method for manufacturing them, provide economical savings in material, manufacturing steps, and effort at the construction site.
