A method of artificially changing the composition of the phospholipid produced by host cells, which comprises transforming the cells with a recombinant DNA that has antisense genes of a phospholipase D gene, the antisense genes hybridizing with a mRNA of the phospholipase D gene in the host cell to thereby generate a mRNA which inhibits the expression of the phospholipase D genes, and that expresses the antisense genes in the cells. Cette invention concerne un procédé permettant de modifier artificiellement la composition des phospholipides produits par des cellules hôtes. Ledit procédé consiste à transformer les cellules avec un ADN recombiné qui possède des gènes anti-sens d'un gène de phospholipase D, lesdits gènes anti-sens s'hybridant avec un ARNm du gène de phospholipase D dans la cellule hôte de façon à générer un ARNm qui inhibe l'expression des gènes de phospholipase D, et qui exprime les gènes anti-sens dans les cellules. L'invention se rapporte également à un ADN recombiné qui possède des gènes anti-sens d'un gène de phospholipase D, lesdits gènes anti-sens s'hybridant avec un ARNm du gène de phospholipase D dans la cellule hôte de façon à générer un ARNm qui inhibe l'expression des gènes de phospholipase D, et qui exprime les gènes anti-sens dans les cellules.
