A method for checking the surface condition of one side (2) of a solid (1) to detect any shape defects that may be present therein, and a device therefor, are disclosed. The side to be checked is observed, for example, by imaging with a wide-angle video camera (3) and a narrow-angle video camera (4) and the size of the detected defects is measured by means of an opto-electronic sensor (11). The device is useful for operator checking or automatic checking.

L'invention concerne une méthode de contrôle de l'état de surface d'une face (2) d'un solide (1) pour repérer les défauts de forme susceptibles de s'y trouver, ainsi qu'un dispositif pour sa mise en oeuvre. L'observation de la face à contrôler se fait par l'intermédiaire de prises de vue par exemple au moyen de caméras vidéo grand champ (3) et petit champ (4) et la taille des défauts repérés est mesurée par un palpeur optoélectronique (11). Le dispositif peut être utilisé en vue d'un contrôle par un opérateur ou en vue d'un contrôle automatique.
