An apparatus (10) and method are provided for selectively applying an agentcontaining liquid coating to extremely tiny skin piercing microprojections (12) . The coating solution is applied to the skin piercing microprojections (12) using a coating technique which selectively coats only predetermined portions the skin piercing microprojections (12) . By the use of various photoresists and hydrophobic coatings, a defined and precise portion of the microprojections and/or the microprojection (12) . arrays can be coated with an agent formulation.

L'invention concerne un appareil (10) et un procédé qui permettent d'appliquer sélectivement une substance contenant un revêtement protecteur liquide sur des microprojections de perçage de la peau (12) extrêmement fines. La solution de revêtement est appliquée sur les microprojections (12) par une technique d'enduction sélective, uniquement sur des parties prédéterminées des microprojections (12). L'utilisation de diverses photorésines et revêtements hydrophobes permet d'enduire une partie déterminée et précise des microprojections et/ou des réseaux de microprojections (12) par application d'une substance préparée.
