- 1 - Abstract A process for colorizing a high information density black and white image comprises generating color inform- ation for the image at an information density lower in some aspect than the information density of the original black and white image. This color information is then computer processed at the lower information density to produce processed color information. The processed low information density color information is then combined with the high information density black and white information to produce a high information density full color image.
