The invention concerns a method for compressing a structured document comprising nested information elements, the document being associated with at least a tree-like structure schema (1) defining a structure of the document and comprising of nested structural components, representing information elements, which consists in: analysing (11) and compiling (13) the structural schema of the document to obtain for each component of the schema, a sequence of executable instructions (5), comprising instructions for inserting control codes and codes of element or calling for sequences of component instructions, and instructions for controlling the development of the execution of the sequence on the basis of control code values; and decompressing (14') the document to be decompressed (10) which is in the form of a bit stream, said step including execution of sequences of instructions (5) on the bit stream, to restore a document with original format.
Pour la compression d'un document structuré comprenant des éléments d'information imbriqués, le document étant associé à au moins un schéma de structure arborescent (1) définissant une structure du document et comprenant des composants de structure imbriqués, représentant des éléments d'informations, ce procédé consiste à: analyser (11) et compiler (13) le schéma de structure du document en vue d'obtenir pour chaque composant du schéma, une séquence d'instructions exécutables (5), comportant des instructions d'insertion de codes de contrôle et de codes d'élément ou d'appel de séquences d'instructions d'élément, et des instructions de contrôle du déroulement de l'exécution de la séquence en fonction des valeurs des codes de contrôle; et de décompresser (14') le document à décompresser (10) qui se présente sous la forme d'un flux binaire, cette étape comprenant l'exécution des séquences d'instructions (5) sur le flux binaire, en vue de reconstituer un document au format d'origine.
