Vigorous cell division is under way in a dome-shaped tissue formed by culture in the basal part of a foliage leaf in a bulb or a tuber. Thus, it is expected that this tissue is free from viruses. A virus-free plant is obtained by isolating and culturing this dome-shaped tissue.
