ABSTRACT A method of gas treatment is disclosed of a substance in liquid or suspended form so that a wanted treatment result is obtained. In the method, the added gas quantity is controlled with the aid of the gas consumption which during the treatment is determined by means of measurement of the density change of the substance. The method is used e.g. in connection with treatment of pulp with oxygen or an oxygen-containing gas.
