The invention relates to a process for the conversion of a polymer or oligomer derived from an ethylenically unsaturated monomer to alkanes, a hydrocarbon fraction or a cut of lower oligomers by controlled hydrocracking. The process consists in placing the said polymer or oligomer in the presence of a catalyst based on a metal hydride or organometallic complex on a inorganic support, the said complex having at least one hydrocarbon ligand and possibly at least one hydride ligand; this mixture is made to react with hydrogen to obtain the catalytic hydrocarbon of the said polymer or oligomer. The said polymer or oligomer is degraded into valuable products with a lower molecular weight, which have applications in the field of polymers, specifically polymers with controlled molecular weight, fuels or lubricants.
Ce procédé pour la transformation d'un polymère ou d'un oligomère dérivé d'un monomère à insaturation éthylénique, en alcanes ou en coupe d'hydrocarbures ou en coupe d'oligomères inférieurs par hydrocraquage contrôlé, comprend les étapes consistant à: mettre ledit polymère ou oligomère en présence d'un catalyseur à base d'un hydrure de métal ou d'un complexe organométallique supporté sur un support minéral, ledit complexe comportant au moins un ligand hydrocarboné et éventuellement au moins un ligand hydrure, puis faire réagir ce mélange avec de l'hydrogène réalisant l'hydrocarboné catalytique dudit polymère ou oligomère. Ledit polymère ou oligomère est dégradé en produits valorisables de plus faible masse moléculaire qui trouvent des applications par exemple dans le domaine des polymères, notamment de masse moléculaire contrôlée, des carburants ou des lubrifiants.
