The invention concerns a method for controlling the division and/or elongation of eukariotic cells, and in particular plant cells, by modifying the expression and/or the activity of a TONNEAU1 protein in said cells. Said medhod enables in particular to act on the size of plants, or of their organs. The modification of the expression and/or the activity of the TONNEAU1 protein can for example, be carried out via a gene coding for said protein, or sequences controlling its expression, or by using said protein inhibitors of activators.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour contrôler la division et/ou l'élongation de cellules eucaryotes, et en particulier de cellules végétales, en modifiant l'expression et/ou l'activité d'une protéine de type TONNEAU1 dans lesdites cellules. Ce procédé permet en particulier d'agir sur la taille des plantes, ou de leurs organes. La modification de l'expression et/ou de l'activité d'une protéine TONNEAU1 peut, par exemple, être effectuée par l'intermédiaire du gène codant pour cette protéine, ou des séquences contrôlant son expression, ou par l'utilisation d'inhibiteurs ou d'activateurs de ladite protéine.
