Method for controlling the introduction of zinc to a nuclear power reactor to control radiation build-up wherein zinc ions are introduced into the reactor water to counteract loss of zinc within the reactor system. In the process, the rate of introduction of zinc ions into the reactor water is balanced with the rate at which zinc ions are lost from the reactor.

L'invention concerne un procédé de régulation d'introduction de zinc dans un réacteur de centrale nucléaire afin de lutter contre l'accroissement du rayonnement. A cet effet, on introduit des ions zinc dans l'eau du réacteur afin de compenser les pertes de zinc dans le système du réacteur. Au cours du processus, la vitesse d'introduction d'ions zinc dans le réacteur d'eau s'équilibre avec la vitesse de perte des ions zinc par le réacteur.
