A method for recycling books, magazines, manuals and other published printed matter by conversion into boxes and storage containers of various types. Binding solution is applied to the perimeter of pages. The solution binds the pages into a stiff block that can then be cut without distortion by a wide variety of machines into a plethora of shapes. Coatings applied to the cut surfaces provide rigidity to the finished product. Typically the method is used to convert books into boxes whereby the front and back cover of the books serve as the top and bottom of the boxes created. The sides of the boxes are formed by pages that have been hollowed out and stiffened by the application of coatings on the inner and outer surfaces.
