These tables are each connected to a supporting structure (11, 21) and operate conjointly on either side of the plane of travel of the material (2) along a longitudinal axis (X). The method includes, during the compression phase, a phase of essentially unidirectional, intentional, elastic deformation of a structure (12, 22) of one of said tables (10, 20).
