A process for colling post solid-stating reactor PET flakes comprises conveying PET flakes from a solid-stating reactor to a first separator in the presence of air and water at an elevated pressure whereby the PET flakes are partially cooled and the water is converted to steam by contact with the PET flakes, separating the steam from te partially cooled PET flakes, and conveying the partially cooled PET flakes from the first separator to a second separator in the presence of air at an elevated pressure.

L'invention concerne un procédé de refroidissement de paillettes PET post-réacteur de solidification, consistant à transporter des paillettes PET d'un réacteur de solidification à un premier séparateur en présence d'air et d'eau à une température élevée permettant de refroidir partiellement les paillettes et de convertir l'eau en vapeur par contact avec les paillettes PET, à séparer la vapeur des paillettes PET partiellement refroidies, et à transporter les paillettes PET partiellement refroidies du premier séparateur à un second séparateur en présence d'air à une température élevée.
