A coded signal conveys encoded audio information and metadata that may be used to control the loudness and dynamic range of the audio information during its playback. If the values for these metadata parameters are set incorrectly, annoying fluctuations in loudness during playback can result. The present invention overcomes this problem by detecting incorrect metadata parameter values in the signal and replacing the incorrect values with corrected values.

L'invention porte sur un signal qui véhicule des informations audio codées et des métadonnées qui peuvent être utilisées pour régler l'intensité et la plage dynamique des informations audio pendant leur reproduction. Si les valeurs des paramètres de ces métadonnées sont établies de manière incorrecte, cela peut entraîner une gêne dans les fluctuations d'intensité pendant la reproduction. Cette invention permet de résoudre ce problème en détectant des valeurs incorrectes dans les paramètres des métadonnées du signal et en remplaçant ces valeurs incorrectes par des valeurs corrigées.
