The invention relates to a method for cutting a workpiece (5), especially a three-dimensional, spatial surface (1) of said workpiece (5). A tool (2) that is provided with at least one cutting edge is moved in three movement axes (x, y, z) along the surface (1) and is positioned on a fourth axis (W), whereby the cutting edge (3) faces the surface (1).
