Abstract For the purpose of damping natural oscillatory movements in a preferably ceiling-suspended pillar-stand (1,2) for carrying X-ray equipment (4,5) a pendulum arrangement (10) or the like is arranged in the stand part (2). When natural oscillatory movements occur in the pillar-stand when making positional adjustment thereto, the natural oscillatory movement of the stand is effectively extinguished within the space of some few seconds by a damped, counter-directional pendulating movement imparted to the pendulating arrangement by means of the natural oscillatory motion of the stand. (Fig. 1)
