Abstract of the Disclosure The computer centre of a railway system constantly exchanges data with the interlocking stations. The inter- locking station contains a data transmitter and a data receiver. In the data receiver a sync pulse is derived from the incoming data words and used to control the data transmitter so that the beginning of an incoming data word coincides with the beginning of a transmitted data word. This results in a constant time relationship between the data words arriving in the computer centre and the clock rate of the computer centre. -6-
