The invention relates to a method for deactivating and recovering boron trifluoride when producing polyisobutenes by means of cationic polymerisation of isobutene or hydrocarbon streams containing isobutene in the liquid phase in the presence of boron trifluoride or in the form of a boron trifluoride catalyst complex. Said catalyst complex is separated, essentially in the liquid phase, from the reactor discharge. Said method contains the following steps, a) removing from the polymerisation reactor at -60 to 0 ~C, methanol, ethanol or a mixture of methanol and ethanol in such a quantity that an alcohol phase rich in boron trifluoride is deposited b) separating the alcohol phase according to (a) and, (c) from the alcohol phase according to (b) is reintegrated into the inventive method in a suitable manner if desired.
L'invention concerne un procédé pour désactiver et récupérer du trifluorure de bore lors de la production de polyisobutènes par polymérisation cationique d'isobutène ou de flux d'hydrocarbure contenant de l'isobutène en phase liquide, en présence de trifluorure de bore en tant que tel ou sous forme d'un complexe catalyseur de trifluorure de bore, ce complexe catalyseur, pratiquement en phase liquide, étant séparé du déversement du réacteur. Ledit procédé comprend les opérations suivantes : a) ajouter au déversement du réacteur de polymérisation, entre - 60 ·C et 0 ·C, du méthanol, de l'éthanol ou un mélange de méthanol et d'éthanol dans une quantité telle qu'une phase alcool riche en trifluorure de bore se dépose, b) séparer la phase alcool de l'opération (a), et c) réintégrer le trifluorure de bore de la phase alcool de l'opération (b) de manière appropriée dans le procédé, le cas échéant .
