The present invention relates to a method for deactivation and removal of catalytic components in the oligomerisation of ethylene to form linear Alpha- Olefins, comprising the steps of: a) Obtaining an organic phase outlet stream from an oligomerisation reactor comprising organic solvent, catalyst, dissolved ethylene and linear Alpha-Olefins; b) Mixing the outlet stream obtained in step a) With an aqueous phase basic solution to deactivate the catalyst components; and c) Separating the linear Alpha-Olefins containing organic phase from the aqueous basic phase, the aqueous basic phase containing the deactivated catalyst components.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de désactivation et d'élimination de composants catalytiques dans l'oligomérisation d'éthylène pour former des alpha-oléfines linéaires, comprenant les étapes consistant à : a) obtenir un flux de sortie de phase organique d'un réacteur d'oligomérisation comprenant un solvant organique, un catalyseur, de l'éthylène dissous et des alpha-oléfines linéaires ; b) mélanger le flux de sortie obtenu dans l'étape a) avec une solution basique en phase aqueuse pour désactiver les composants catalyseurs ; et c) séparer les alpha-oléfines linéaires contenant la phase organique de la phase basique aqueuse, la phase basique aqueuse contenant les composants catalyseurs désactivés.
