The invention relates to a method for decoloring polymers or copolymers obtained by cationic polymerisation of tetrahydrofuran or tetrahydrofuran and alkylene oxide, optionally in the presence of a telogen, wherein a) the low boiling parts are initially separated by vacuum distillation or extraction and b) the remaining polymer or copolymer is heated to a temperature of 20-150 ~C in the presence of at least one auxiliary agent selected from solid oxides and/or phyllosilicates.
