A B S T R A C T This invention relates to a method of dehydrocyclising aliphatic hydrocarbons to form corresponding aromatic hydrocarbons. According to the invention a batch of aliphatic hydrocarbons in the presence of hydrogen is injected at a temperature of 430 to 550°C with a catalyst comprising a type L zeolite containing at least one metal from group VIII of the periodic table of elements so as to convert at least part of the batch into aromatic hydrocarbons. The aliphatic hydrocarbons preferably contain 6 - 10 carbon atoms. The method in group VIII of the periodic table of elements may be platinum or palladium. -1-
