The invention concerns a method which consists in injecting into a molten metal bath to be treated, jointly but separately into the same bath zone, oxygen and carbon in a form capable of being blown (powder carbon preferably) so as to generate locally in the bath Co bubbles from those two elements, which will then be loaded in denitriding nitrogen. A stoichiometric adjustment of the carbon and oxygen inputs enable a constant carbon denitriding in the bath. The method is preferably applicable to the production of low-carbon steel grades, in particular in an electric oven.
Ce procédé consiste à injecter dans le bain de métal en fusion à traiter, conjointement mais séparément dans la même zone du bain, de l'oxygène et du carbone sous une forme insufflable (carbone pulvérulent de préférence) de manière à générer localement dans le bain des bulles de CO à partir de ces deux éléments, lesquelles vont alors se charger en azote de dénitruration. Un réglage stoechiométrique des apports de carbone et d'oxygène permet une dénitruration à carbone constant dans le bain. Le procédé s'applique préférentiellement à l'élaboration de nuances d'acier à très bas carbone, notamment au four électrique.
