METHOD FOR DESHINGLING INTERSTACKED WEBS TO DELIVER SINGLE SHEETS WITH A GAP THEREBETWEEN ABSTRACT The method includes providing 2-up interstacked webs staggered relative to one another in the direction of web travel. The webs are passed through a burster/detacher having a first roll pair and a second roll pair spaced from the first roll pair in the direction of web travel. The second roll pair is operated at a speed greater than twice the speed of the first roll pair so that upon alternately bursting the webs at location between the roll pairs, the burst sheets are delivered alternately from the webs along a delivery path spaced from the burster/detacher in the direction of web travel, with a substantially constant gap between the sheets. The gap is determined for the formula: Image wherein the speed ratio is the ratio of the speed of the second roll pair to the speed of the first roll pair and the Depth is the length of the sheets in the direction of travel.
