The invention relates to a method for catalytically eliminating H2S gas from an acid gas stream, in the presence of a chelate ligand of general formula (I), in which X represents hydrogen, an alkali metal, or NH4+; n represents 1, 2 or 3; at least one of the groups R1 to R6 represents an alkyl, aryl, alkyloxy, aryloxy, carboxy or hydroxyl group and the other groups represent hydrogen; and the metal in the metal chelate complex is a polyvalent metal, which can be present in more than one level of oxidation. The invention also relates to a mixture for eliminating H2S gas from an acid gas stream, said mixture containing a metal chelate complex comprising aminocarboxylate and to the use of a metal chelate complex comprising aminocarboxylate for eliminating H2S gas from an acid gas stream.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour éliminer, par voie catalytique, du gaz de H¿2?S contenu dans un flux de gaz acide, en présence d'un ligand chélaté de formule générale (I), dans laquelle X représente hydrogène, un métal alcalin ou NH¿4??+ ¿; n vaut 1, 2 ou 3 ; et au moins un des restes R?1¿ à R?6¿ représente un reste alkyle, aryle, alkyloxy, aryloxy, carboxy ou hydroxyle et les autres restes représentent hydrogène ; le métal contenu dans le complexe chélate-métal est un métal polyvalent qui peut être présent dans plus d'une étape d'oxydation. L'invention concerne en outre un mélange servant à éliminer du gaz de H¿2?S contenu dans un flux de gaz acide. Ce mélange contient un complexe chélate-métal renfermant des aminocarboxylates.
