1. A method for detecting and classifying surface defects on continuously cast products. 2.1 The invention relates to a method for detecting and classifying surface defects on continuously cast products, using topographical information about the appearance of continuously cast surfaces, wherein defects and/or shortcomings are determined with positional accuracy, evaluated in terms of location and extension, and eliminated in accordance with the evaluation prior to further processing the product, or avoided through process optimization. The aim is a reliable defect evaluation process that is only in fact necessary. 2.2 The aim is achieved in that, one the one hand, the defects and/or shortcomings on the slab surface of the continuously cast preliminary product are detected and stored with positional accuracy and, on the other hand, a detection of defects and/or shortcomings on the finished product is performed, the information being stored with positional accuracy, and that thereafter the information from the preliminary product is compared to that obtained from the surface inspection of the finished product, and only the information that has resulted, or can result, in defects on the finished product is taken into account for an elimination of defects and/or shortcomings on the preliminary product.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de reconnaissance et de classification de défauts de surface sur des produits coulés en continu par utilisation d'informations topographiques relatives à l'apparence de surfaces coulées en continu, les défauts et/ou les discontinuités étant déterminé(e)s avec une bonne précision d'emplacement, évalué(e)s quant à leur emplacement et leur ampleur, et, en fonction de l'évaluation, supprimé(e)s avant un traitement ultérieur du produit, ou évité(e)s par optimisation du processus. L'invention a pour objet de permettre une évaluation sans erreur, fiable et qui n'est réalisée qu'en cas de réelle nécessité. A cet effet, d'une part les défauts et/ou les discontinuités présent(e)s à la surface des brames du produit primaire coulé en continu sont détecté(e)s et enregistré(e)s avec une bonne précision d'emplacement, et d'autre part, une détection de défauts et/ou de discontinuités est réalisée sur le produit fini et ceux-ci sont enregistrés avec une bonne précision d'emplacement, puis les informations relatives au produit primaire sont comparées avec les informations issues de l'inspection de surface réalisée sur le produit fini, et seules sont prises en compte les informations utiles pour réaliser une suppression des défauts et/ou discontinuités de surface sur le produit primaire, qui ont conduit ou peuvent conduire à des défauts sur le produit fini.
