The present invention relates to a method for detecting detachment of a reinforcing component (2) that is attached to a body skin component (1) of a vehicle body of a vehicle, the body skin component (1) and the reinforcing component (2) forming an electric capacitor (4) together with an intermediate adhesive layer (3), said capacitor having a capacitance (C) that changes if there is at least partial detachment of the body skin component (1) from the reinforcing component (2), the capacitance (C) of the capacitor (4) or a change in the capacitance of the capacitor (4) being measured in order to detect detachment of the reinforcing component (1).
