This invention relates to a fossil-fired thermal system such as a power plant (20) or steam generator, and, more particularly, to a method for rapid detection of tube failures (27) and their location within the power plant (20) or steam generator, without need for direct instrumentation, thereby preventing more serious damage and minimizing repair time on the effected heat exchanger (28). This method is applicable to Input/Loss methods of monitoring fossil-fired thermal systems.

L'invention concerne un système thermique à combustible fossile, tel qu'une centrale thermique (20) ou un générateur de vapeur, et, plus particulièrement, un procédé de détection rapide de défaillances de tube (27) et de l'emplacement de ces défaillances dans la centrale thermique (20) ou dans le générateur de vapeur, sans besoin d'instrumentation directe, ce qui permet d'éviter des dommages plus importants et de minimiser le temps de réparation sur l'échangeur de chaleur concerné (28). Ce procédé est applicable aux procédés d'entrée/perte de surveillance des systèmes thermiques à combustibles fossiles.
