The invention concerns a method for detecting new objects (1) in a scene (3) illuminated by lights not necessarily constrained. The method comprises: a step which consists in detecting and producing, in particular with a video camera (4), in the form of electric signals, video images, at successive times; a step which consists in digitising (6) the resulting electric signals and producing image digital data, in particular pixels, at successive times; a step which consists in storing (7a) said image digital data; a step which consists in estimating (7a, 7b) the type of object, the trajectory and attitude changes of the object
