The method is based on an association of at least two saturation criteria enabling detection of a saturation phase when said criteria are met simultaneously. The invention is characterized in that a first saturation criterion (C¿e? .¿ sat?) takes into account the calculation of an instantaneous prediction error ( (Y¿k?)) as a function of the differential between the measured secondary current (<i>i</i>¿<i>s</i>?) and the secondary current (I¿s?) predicted with the aid of a mathematical model, and in that a second saturation criterion (C<SB>F</SB>.¿sat?) takes into account the instantaneous algebraic flux (<SP>F</SP>.¿mes?) calculated by integration of the sampled secondary current (Y¿k?), comparing said algebraic flux to a positive threshold (S+, S'+) and to a negative threshold (S-, S'-). Said comparison is initialized by exaggerating the probabilities of meeting the second saturation criterion at the beginning of the measurement, more particularly by an over-estimation (F_rem_haut) of the absolute value of the remanent flux of the transformer.

Le procédé est basé sur l'association d'au moins deux critères de saturation permettant de détecter une phase de saturation lorsque ces critières sont satisfaits simultanément. Il est caractérisé en ce qu'un premier critère de saturation (C.epsilon. .sat) prend en compte le calcul d'une erreur instantanée de prédiction ( (Yk)) qui est fonction de l'écart entre le courant secondaire mesuré (is) et le courant secondaire (îs) prédit à l'aide d'un modèle mathématique, et en ce au'un deuxième citère de saturation (C.PHI..sat) prend en compte le flux algébrique instantané (.PHI..mes) calculé par intégration du courant secondaire échantillonné (Yk) en comparant ce flux algöbrique à un seuil positif (S+, S'+) ainsi qu'à un seuil négatif (S-, S'-). Cette comparison est initialisée en exagérant les probabilitiés de satisfaire le deuxième critère de saturation au commencement de la mesure, notamment par une surestimation (.PHI._rem_haut) de la valeur absolue du flux rémanent du transformateur.
